A Brief History of (Ursine) Time
Born on June 1st 2006 ? The Ursine Princes were formed from the ashes of 3 of South Wales? most highly-regarded bands: Dim Cyril, KissThis and Sludgecraft. Each of these bands had built up a solid local following and reputations as sterling live peformers, having paid their dues in the time-honoured way by playing every gin-joint, dive, rough boozer and Working Men?s Club in South Wales and beyond.
It may have been fortune that decreed that each of these former bands would split up at the same time, for it allowed the birth of a new rock group ? Ursine Princes. The band that emerged would be leaner, more streamlined and made up from the most committed and creative members from their contributory bands.
Within months the Ursine Princes had enough material to record a full-length demo album. This new material, combined with some of the better songs from the band?s previous incarnations, has made up the backbone of the live set they have been playing for the past year and a half. The Ursine Princes are currently working on another demo and are looking for interested parties to help take us to the next level and beyond: we need people who can see our potential and work as hard as we do to see that it is achieved.
